Hi! I'm Katie Huse and I teach 5th Grade. This is my ninth year at Seagraves Elementary School and my first year in 5th grade. I taught third grade last year and look forward not only to meeting new students, but also to seeing many of the same students that I've had in previous years! Raised in Seagraves, I attended college in San Angelo. I returned to Seagraves and taught Kindergarten for four years before deciding to move to second grade. I then went back to school to get my master's at Sul Ross State University. I taught second grade for two years and then I became the dyslexia coordinator for the district.
We've got quite a year ahead of us. Not only with TAKS, but also learning basic skills to prepare for middle school. We are going to build upon the skills they gained last year, challenging them to more extensive and creative thinking. All around, it will be a year of great growth and discovery for all involved. I look forward to the adventures that await us!
